Welcome Letter

Welcome to the University of Virginia Club of Austin website. We currently have over 800 UVa alumni and a total of 1,200 alumni, family and friends in the Austin area. We are working towards making the UVa community here a vibrant one.

There are two ways to stay informed about Club events. One way is to make sure that the main alumni association in Charlottesville has your current address - they handle any mailings we may do for certain events. In addition, you should send your e-mail address to me so that you will be included on any group messages that I send. I have about 200 people on the list right now and am looking to add more.

We typically have several gatherings to watch football games in the fall and basketball games in the spring. We also have a Cavaliers Care Community Service Event each April – you will receive a postcard from Charlottesville for that event. Cavaliers Care is always a great way to meet and see other UVa grads while making a difference in our community. During the spring we have our annual dinner and the past two years we have been fortunate enough to host professors from the University who have traveled to our area. Finally, prospective student events and college fairs are a great way to share your experiences at UVa with high school students looking at various colleges.

I encourage you to join us for any events we may have in the Austin area. Please let me know if you need any help getting settled into Austin. I look forward to meeting you in person.
